Pascal: Hours 10 and 11

I refined the head feet and stomach and started the most fun part, the detail!!!

Pascal: Hour 9

I knew something was wrong with the proportions I thought I'd have to strip it all down and adjust the armature. I took a photo at the same angle as my reference and traced out the changes I'd need.

Luckily, it was mostly adding to the head and some other easy changes. I'm back on the right track now and ready to move on.

Pascal: Hours 5 and 6

Tonight I dealt mostly adjusting the proportions. The legs have been shortened a bit and thickened up. The snout was cut back and pushed up a lot. The spine was lowered a bit. I've added to the ribs more to bulk him up. His crest/horn thingy has been shortened.

Pascal: 2 more hours...

Two more hours of work tonight. Just basing in the clay. Proportions and things not terribly important at this point. Just get something on there to sculpt with! He's going to be a third bigger than the original because the wooden eyes that I found sort of have to dictate the size of the whole thing. Fine with me!

Let Pascal begin!

Took some reference shots of a very nice sculpt at work a month or two back we had received from California. Thought I'd start making the thing. Now it will be mine!!!! These photos represent two and a half hours of work tonight. I'll keep you updated as the project continues.

Jessica's Hummingbird

One of my drawings is now permanently affixed to my wife's ankle.

The Baron: Complete!

Alright! Not too bad for a first try on z-brush. I really like the painting system. It's very natural for someone who's used to photoshop. And they've managed to make masking very very simple. The Baron, here, was made really only using the very basics. I created a simple armature using z-spheres, then just used the standard brush, move, flatten, and smooth tools for the rest of it. They've got a ton of free tutorial videos on their website, so I still need to pour through those.
